SCOT’S SEARING WINTER SPECIAL
If you haven’t yet graciously welcomed Winter Twenty Sixteen in The Mother City, then La Calombe will give you one good reason! Their celebrated winter
special, which I had the privilege of experiencing this time last year, is back! Which, by the way cost a mere R350 per person for a three-course meal.
We were just in time to experience their new location at Constantia Neck’s Silvermist, an organic wine estate that is believed to have injected new life into their food and service! One thing is for sure, they’ve got it right and it’s unpretentious! In fact we felt as though we were dining in a five star tree house surrounded by white gums and majestic mountains.
Their dishes are uncomplicated and playfully presented. Testimony to this was their signature tuna tataki (pictured below), tastefully served in a beautifully branded tin can! It’s as though every dish has an attitude and a purposes, unsurprising for culinary creations by current, San Pellegrino Chef of the Year!
Chef Scot Kirton's seamless marriage of French and local fushion is a force to be reckoned with, and this year’s eagerly awaited menu is due to be announced today! So gather your top clients, friends, family and colleagues and enjoy some of the Cape’s finest food in the midst of the Constantia Valley. We’ve already booked ours!
