LIVING ON LIFE - AN ORANGE KLOOF INVITE
The wisest Sunday morning decision I’ve made in a long time was undoubtedly accepting an Orange Kloof invite!
Kicking off at Cape Town’s Constantia Neck in the early hours on a fresh summer’s morning, determined to defy the regulars on their standard trails, we
headed up Orange Kloof towards the Old Woodhead Tunnel - a seven hundred-metre underpass dating back to 1887.
Permits in hand we covered untouched ground, climbed gorges and explored the magical Milkwood forests, both pristine and fragrant.
The ten-kilometre hike took us most part of the morning at a steady pace stopping regularly for solitude, tales from our gracious guide and of course much
needed water breaks! There’s nothing quite like the thirst quenching reward of nature’s mountain stream fynbos infused virgin cocktail!
If you’re staying in the Mother City and fancy a little tree hugging time then Orange Kloof is your solution!
Part of Cape Town’s appeal is the ability to be spontaneous with activities involving nature, but in this case you will need to book a permit three months
The four hours flew far too quickly that day and I fell in love with my mountain all over again!Related Item
